2004

December 2004

You know, no matter how awful things may seem -- and this last year was no box of chocolates -- when I look back over my photos, I always seem to remember having had a really good time. I'm feel pretty fortunate.

So this "Year in Review" page is dedicated to everyone in these pictures (and a few others who were camera-shy) who entertain me, and take care of me, and share their life with me. Thank you!

Here's hoping the coming year brings us all peace and prosperity.

Love,
LRH

You've seen this picture. Well, not exactly this picture, but like the ones of yourself you throw out before anybody else sees them. I am, however, putting it on my web site. I can't help it. It makes me laugh out loud. We were having such a good time.

The Roots Tour

Lorraine and Dean Clopton (that's my aunt and uncle) invited me to share their "Roots Tour" in May. It was an amazing journey. They wanted to have their daughters' families visit their old stomping grounds.

First stop for us was Springview,NE and the Alumni Banquet.

Summer Fun

Sara's Birthday was celebrated at Water’s Edge Restaurant on the East River in Long Island City, N.Y.(That's across the river from Manhattan in Queens, for you non-locals.) We took a ferry from 34th street to get there. It was a beautiful evening and there was a wedding in progress on the restaurant pier. Lovely.

Steve's Birthday was celebrated at Churrascaria Plataforma, the Brazilian Big Meat restaurant in Midtown. We eat and drink until we fall out of our chairs. Highly recommended activity for a birthday celebration.

Thanksgiving

My favorite holiday and I got to have two of them this year. The first with the Clopton Clan at Jason and Nancy's new apartment in the West Village. Thanksgiving #2 was at friend Connie Villiers' apartment in Upper Manhattan.

Toast Around the Table with the Clopton Clan:
LRH, Nancy, Russ, Rebecca, Matt, Natalie, Jake, Nancy Jr, Jason, Abby Lublin, Al Diaz, Dean, Lorraine
Eating elegantly by candlelight since the apartment is in renovation and there was no electricity
