Lori's Eulogy

How do you sum up the life of someone you love?  Not in 100 years.

I was still thinking about that as I got up here. And then I looked out at all of you and I realized that this was grandpa’s life. Grandma, his devoted partner of 72 years, Lorraine, his loving daughter, his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, dear friends, special neighbors and a community that he loved and lived in most of his life…these are the lives he touched, the lives he enriched, and the lives he made better for being a part of them.

If you knew grandpa, you knew the same joy that we experienced as a family throughout our lives.  How lucky were we.  Lee Allen Ross, blessed our lives like no other.

We will always remember his stories, his smile, the laughter, the gentle touch, kind words and generosity, hands so nimble that created our beautiful cedar treasures. He was an angel sent from heaven, never to be forgotten.;

I have no doubt that grandpa was an angel here on earth and is now an angel in heaven.  He had a heart of gold. Looking around the church today makes it clear just how many people’s lives he touched with that heart of gold.

We must now say goodbye to our dear Grandfather; he is clearly in a better place.  I think the world lost a little magic when he died, but I also know in my heart that his soul touched each of us.  The memories will remain.  We look forward to sharing those memories for many years to come.

We look forward to the day that we again see his face…that smile, we love you, and we miss you.  Heaven welcomes you, our dear angel.
